Dr. Fei TENG
滕飛
I am currently an associate professor in Psychology at South China Normal University. Broadly speaking, my research interests are in the area of social psychology. Most of my research involves stereotype and prejudice (especially those toward women) examining phenomena like objectification, sexism, social ideology, and relationships. I have found that discriminatory and aggressive acts are often more subtle and nuanced than previously thought, but they still have negative social and legal consequences for recipients. my work has been funded by the National Science Foundation of China and The Ministry of Education of Humanities and Social Science Project and has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Process, European Journal of Social Psychology, Sex Roles, and Basic and Applied Social Psychology.

I am currently an assistant professor at The Education University of Hong Kong. I obtained my doctorate degree from the University of Hong Kong. My primary research focuses on interpersonal relationships and processes, with an emphasis on the cognitive, emotional, behavioral impacts of ostracism and social rejection. Specifically, I examine when and why ostracism promotes anti-social behaviors (e.g. aggression and dishonesty) and examine how to help people better cope with the pain of ostracism. I also investigate the psychological impacts of sexual objectification and money.
